In Katie’s client service role, she supports advisors and clients by making the administrative work seem easy. You’re sure to speak with her when scheduling meetings and interacting with our client service team. She works to leverage our time—ensuring that we’re as responsive and attentive as ever. Katie is known for “making it happen.”
Like our two founders, Matt Hall and Rick Hill, Katie formerly worked at Buckingham Asset Management. She was a member of the institutional services team as it grew from a few hundred million in client assets to approximately $800M.
Family matters
My husband, Doug, and I were married in Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City in 2015. These last five years have flown by, and we have added two little ones to our family. Our daughter Sally is three, and our son Billy is two. Our children are the center of our whole world: and we cannot remember what life was like before they were here! We love to spend as much time with the kids as possible.
We are also incredibly close with our extended family. My mom and dad are two of my best friends and phenomenal grandparents to Sally and Billy. My brothers Tim and Colin have officially claimed Doug as their mentor and hunting buddy while being fabulous uncles to the kids.
Community involvement
Being involved with nonprofits is one of my favorite things. I have been very blessed and want to give back as much as I can. I recently stepped down from the board at Gateway to Hope: A Breast Cancer Lifeline but have stayed very involved with their fundraising events and volunteer activities. I am involved in various Catholic organizations around town, and my husband and I are active parishioners at Annunziata Catholic Church.
Most memorable trip
While it’s hard to pick, Italy is my favorite place to visit, more specifically, Rome — the eternal city! Each trip has been incredibly special. In 2012, I was privileged to meet Pope Benedict with my dad through the Papal Foundation. In 2013, I went on a spur-of-the-moment trip with a friend for the Conclave and witnessed Pope Francis’ election and installation mass. Still, the most memorable trip I’ve ever been on was in October 2015 when my husband, Doug, and I were married in Saint Peter’s Basilica. We will never forget that trip — and were lucky enough to go back a few months later for an audience with Pope Francis.
Favorite workout routine
In my former life before kids, I loved to practice yoga daily, especially Ashtanga. I now practice once or twice per week and have added the cardio of chasing around toddlers for fun. We love to go on family walks when the weather is nice.
Top five movies
This answer is always changing, but, right now: The Women, To Catch a Thief, Thomas Crown Affair (the remake), The Money Pit, and Blue Jasmine
Favorite app
Instagram. It’s kind of an addiction.
Ideal weekend
Relaxing with my family, spending time outdoors at the pool or the park, and cooking something delicious.
Most satisfying part of life at hig
Hands down, the people on our team! Also, the attention to detail in all aspects of our company. I never thought I would find an investment firm so thoughtful about all our materials’ design and quality.
I love how close-knit we are here at Hill Investment Group. We know one another’s children, we celebrate the ups and downs that life throws at us, and we are honest with one another – even when it hurts.
Most likely to spend a spare hour
Laughing with the kids, reading, needlepoint, or letting my OCD run wild by organizing!
Inspired by
My parents, my grandma, Ralph Lauren, and Walt Disney.

What's the deal with the pink hair
Fifteen years ago, the hair salon I frequented participated in a program called “Pink Hair for Hope.” During October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), they would attach pink hair extensions and donate the proceeds to various charities. About nine years ago, I decided that I wanted the pink to stay year-round, so my stylist agreed to continue donating and started dyeing a section permanently with hot pink! It doesn’t hurt that pink is also my favorite color.
