Sarah Larsen is our Executive Operations Lead. Sarah is the operational and organizational backbone of HIG. In this role, Sarah partners closely with Matt Hall and the leadership teams of Hill and LRP to strengthen execution discipline and scale organizational capacity. Sarah’s responsibilities include executive support, as well as human resources and people operations, finance, billing, and firm administration, as well as leading special projects and cross-team initiatives.
Sarah brings more than eight years of experience running her own administrative support business, following an earlier chapter of her career in advertising. After taking time to raise her children, she intentionally reshaped her professional path to prioritize balance while continuing to do meaningful, high-impact work—an approach that strongly reflects the values we care about at HIG.
Family
My husband Patrick and I live in Seattle, WA, with our two children, Luke & Piper. Although I was raised in California, I’ve wholeheartedly embraced the Pacific North West (PNW) lifestyle…even the rain! and will happily tell you all about the best adventures and restaurants in the area.
First Job
As the daughter of an entrepreneur, I know how much work goes into keeping things going behind the scenes, and I love being the one to help our team feel supported so that they can put their best foot forward to serve our clients.
I’ve been working since I was in middle school, where I spent many summers filing and doing data entry at my dad’s office and then “graduating” to a retail job at a local surf shop in my hometown of Laguna Beach when I was a teenager. (I recently found my Social Security statement that shows I’ve been paying in since I was 14 years old!)
Always Learning
Trying new things is in my DNA, and I’m not afraid to jump in and learn something new or figure out how to make things happen. My adventurous spirit has served me well, both personally and professionally, from traveling to new countries, teaching myself bookkeeping, or taking piano lessons at 40 years old. I’m always up for a new adventure, and I joke, “Be careful what you ask me to do because I’ll make it happen”.
Most Likely to Spend a Spare Hour
I love taking my dog, Rosie, on a long walk while listening to an audiobook – I’m an avid reader and always have two books going at once—one to read and one to listen to. Otherwise, I’m planning our next family trip!
